An initiative facilitating and directly executing multiplayer and collaborative games on an open source platform. It’s developed specifically to be flexible in enabling diverse play dynamics. Inherent in its structure is sophisticated use of underlying data for use in play/collaboration dynamics and also exposure of that data via credible analytics. The lux platform is built upon node.js, with emphasis on supporting integration with most front-end technologies. lux is being developed under a permissive MIT license.
lux’s Executive Producer is Brandon Laurino, who also held that role in the creation of Eve Online’s Dust. He generously provides insight and oversight for this initiative. lux was originally inspired by conversations with Jason Anderson, who oversaw analysis of data within Blizzard’s World of Warcraft, and a shared desired to provide tools and analytics approaching WoW’s level of sophistication, for diverse games and other collaborative purposes.
